Sailing classroom trips are offered in May, June, September and October on weekdays when the boat is not otherwise engaged. The cost is $5/student, with no charge for teachers or other chaperones.
Total trip time dock to dock is 2.5 hours, and includes both a structured lesson and supervised "free time" when students will be actively engaged in manning the ship, when the day's lesson will be reenforced in hands-on activities.
Lessons and hands-on time is tailored to age levels from sixth grade to college level, and include a pre-voyage packet to familiarize students with the vessel and to be completed prior to departure.
Students and chaperones should bring notebooks & pencils, lunch, snacks and weather appropriate clothing. All safety equipment is provided by Mon Tiki.
