Mon Tiki Daysailing and Sunset Cruises
During late June, July and August, Mon Tiki sails a regular schedule of of day and early evening sailing outings. Our itinerary is simple: we leave the dock, clear the Montauk jetties and put the boat on whatever heading wind and tide dictate. Along the way you can sit back and enjoy the ride, or if you want to, help us trim the sails or even take a turn at the helm.
Afternoon trips tend to be more spirited, with Montauk's reliable summer shore breeze filling the sails and really showing off what the boat is capable of both as a sailing craft, and as a self-sustaining power generating vessel.
Evening trips are usually more docile, and often find Mon Tiki ghosting under full canvas while the sun goes down over Gardeners Island.
Dock to dock time for our afternoon and sundown sailing trips is 2 hours. Reservations can be made in advance, but we welcome walk-on guests as well -- this is the Mon Tiki experience for everyone!
The cost is $60 for adults, $40 for children under 12. It often feels a touch cooler on the water than it does ashore, so please bring a sweater or jacket.
Mon Tiki Morning Paddle Session and Breakfast
A special offering for early risers who want to take advantage of the perfect standup paddleboard and kayaking conditions offered by the East End's frequent glass-still mornings.
We start the morning with gentle paddle out to Mon Tiki where a breakfast of baked goods, fruit and cheeses, fresh-brewed hot coffee and plenty of fresh squeezed juice awaits us!
After breakfast it's back on our boards to enjoy paddling across the early morning glass. All paddles feature on the water guides and is supported by a RIB chase-boat, making this a perfect outing for beginners as well as more seasoned paddlers.
This trip is limited to 12 paddlers and is offered only when weather conditions allow us to deliver an A+ experience. For the best chance of being included, we recommend you subscribe to our e-mail newsletter, follow us on Twitter, or become a fan on Facebook.
Offshore Canyons Fishing Trip (Soul Fishing)
This is a taste of the original Kon Tiki voyage, with the advantage of coming back to the same place you started!
When fishing and weather condition are right, Mon Tiki makes full use of her generous sail plan to head offshore where the clear blue waters of the Gulf Stream hold tuna, mahi and other pelagic species. We'll fish exclusively under sail power and keep only what we can use. Along the way you can expect dolphins on the bow, whale sighting, or whatever else Mother Ocean has in store for us. On this trip you'll be a full participant in running the ship and get a taste of helmsmanship, basic charting and navigation, and seamanship tactics.
Like soul surfing, "soul fishing" is about the enjoyment of the essential elements of the trip. It's not about taking trophies or blood on the deck. A soul fishing trip is about the solitude on the water, it's about taking advantage of what's offered in abundance, and most of all, enjoying the camaraderie of life at sea!
This is an extremely limited, conditions dependent offering; and because a simpatico crew is so essential to the success of the trip, berths available to those who've sailed with us on near shore trips.
Bespoke Charter Trips
With 300 square feet of deck space and her stable catamaran design Mon Tiki is an ideal platform for trips and events of every kind. Mon Tiki boasts a full galley and we partner with the East End's best caterers to produce one-of-kind wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversaries, and corporate outings. The only limit is your imagination!
